Anatoly Zverev (1931–1986) was
a Russian artist, a member of the non-
conformist movement and a founder of Russian Expressionism in the 1960s. The Collection presented in the particular exhibition and the catalogue had certain challenges regarding
the condition of Zverev's works.
They survived the fire in the house
of a famous collector George Costakis
in Bakovka near Moscow in 1976.
The main idea in the creation of the catalogue was to present the burnt masterpieces without hiding their destroyed edges, a detail which adds charm and emphasizes the dramatic history of the paintings.
